“And now a glance into the past brings to memory sweet, a Mr. and Mrs. Crook of Rouses Point N. Y. whose daughter Mrs. John W. Lovell, was beloved by all. She and I soon became congenial friends and so remained for thirty off years when the silent messenger again crossed my path and took her from me, April 4th, 1927. During our years of friendship she won me, in part, from my attendance at Quaker meetings to her recent cult, “Divine Science” formed by the Rev. John M. Murray and brought from the West to us here in New York, where in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, 34th and 5th Ave. he conducted services. I was interested of course and went and went and went to the meetings but a year or two later death called Dr. Murray to his heavenly home and the reward merited by his long service to the God of his love and life…..”
